Newborn & Prenatal Care
Choosing a pediatrician before your baby arrives
The best time to find a pediatrician is before you need one. At Poppy Pediatrics, Dr. Ashley Landsman meets expecting families during pregnancy, then cares for your newborn from the very first days, all within the comfort of your own home.
Start with a prenatal meet-and-greet
A prenatal visit is a relaxed, no-pressure conversation over video. This is a chance to get to know Dr. Landsman, ask questions, talk through your hopes for your baby's care, and see whether Poppy Pediatrics feels like the right fit. Many families schedule this in the second or third trimester, but it's never too late to reach out.
The first weeks with your newborn
The first weeks are usually a blur of feeding, sleeping (or not), and a hundred small questions. Instead of packing every baby item you own into your diaper bag (and realizing you forgot diapers) and coming to a germ filled office, your newborn visits happen at your home. Dr. Landsman will sit with you and see how are doing, along with checking on your new baby. She does weight, jaundice, feeding and development checks all while your baby is comfortably on the couch or feeding in your arms.
- • Newborn home visits in the first days and weeks
- • Weight checks and jaundice monitoring
- • Feeding support — breast, bottle, or both
- • Sleep guidance
- • Direct text and phone access for urgent questions
- • Well-baby visits as your child grows
Feeding questions, answered by your doctor
Feeding rarely goes exactly to plan. Maybe your baby was feeding just fine for the first 2 days in the hospital, and then as soon as you're home and alone, you both forget everything. This is normal and common. Dr. Landsman can offer hands on feeding support in your home, or answer those evening fussiness questions via text so you don't have to google it all at 3am. Dr. Landsman will actually know you and your child, and what your goal is with feeding and address your concerns as they arise.
